About

Since 2017, Outrace the Stigma 5K has been proud to support the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). The organization strives to provide advocacy, education, support and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives. The 5K was also created to highlight mental health resources at and around NC State University.

NAMI, a non-profit organization across the US, works to raise awareness about mental health, reduce stigma, and offer resources for individuals living with mental illnesses and their families. They provide educational programs, support groups, and advocate for policies to improve mental health services. NAMI aims to create a community of understanding and support for those affected by mental health conditions.
